Forgot to tell you.....
Oops. I forgot to tell you that our new name will simply be P22-6 Ranch. Because we will be a foster parent community we will not only be helping boys but girls as well. We are working on changing all of our logos. Please be patient! It's a process!
The New Us
I realize it has been quite some time since we have updated our blog. All of this social networking takes some getting used to, especially finding the time with all that we have going on.
We recently had a community meeting to introduce our new format. We are now moving forward as a "foster parent community" as opposed to a "group home". There are a number of reasons we have slightly changed gears. The short version of the story is the same budget will go a lot further and there will be less regulation from the state that will hinder even getting started. We will post a new flyer shortly. We are very excited about this new program.
We still feel that this effort is to be located at the property at Log Cabin Corner. We continue our fund raising efforts to purchase this property but have a long way to go. Every little bit helps and we covet your prayers.
We would love to come and speak to your club, group or foundation to tell you more about our calling. We also love to speak to individuals! Please contact us if you know someone who would like to hear more. Can't wait to talk to you!
God bless you and stay warm!!!

Update
It was a long weekend at the Woodward Expo Farm Expo but we came away very blessed. It was our first P22-6 booth. It looked great with our new banner (thanks SPC) proudly out front!
We talked to soooo many people who loved what we are doing and even had some contributions. It was such a blessing to get to share our story (which is just beginning) with so many people we didn't know. A lot of people have read articles about us in the Woodward newspaper, Western Star (Coldwater paper) and the Baptist Messenger. It was good for them to get to hear it from us and put a face to the mission.
We (Kirk) will soon be speaking at some area churches to help spread the word. If you would like us to speak at your church please share with your pastor and give us a call. We would love to share with you!

Keep on Truckin'!
Got our P22-6 Boys Ranch banner today and it looks great. Thanks to Kirstie at SPC for taking care of that for us.
Lots of positive contacts in the past couple of weeks including our first official, in hand contribution from a private citizen. Hoping to have a write up in the paper soon with pics of our first corporate and private citizen donors.
Looked at a new plot of land that has possibilities and just praying to see where God wants to take us next.
Have a wonderful day. God bless!

Nothing will stop Gods plan.
Despite the snow, below freezing temps, no banner and having to move the meeting to another location at the last minute we had quite a few people come to learn about P22-6 Boys Ranch. We even met some new people. We went through a slide presentation and then answered questions and had refreshments. The word is getting out and the Lords work WILL be done. With God nothing is impossible!
Thanks to all who came to learn more and support our mission. A special thanks to Tyrel and Brandy Pickard for all of the help you gave us and Brett Allen and First Baptist Church for letting us move the meeting there.
There will be a follow up meeting soon and a fundraiser of some sort. Details to come as soon as we have them!
God bless you all.

Exciting!
Another exciting day. Today we had a call from a corporation who wants to contribute! More details later but I had to share. The Lord continues to bless our lives, even when we don't deserve it....and NONE of us do! Praise Him today and everyday.

Meeting
We continue to be excited about all of yesterdays phone calls asking about the meeting. We are hard at work getting the details worked out for next Thursday and a print shop is working on our P22-6 Boys Ranch banner. Woo hoo! It will come in handy for some future events including the booth we will have at Expo Farm Expo this spring. Please come out and support us every chance you get! It is so much fun seeing God at work in our lives! To Him be the glory!

The Lord is in control.
Today we received our first call from the add placed in the paper concerning our informational meeting. It was a gentleman who lives in Woodward and spent some time as a child in a boys ranch. He is excited to contribute to our cause. This is the second contribution made to our calling. This is very exciting news! We have not had as much response as quickly as WE would like in relation to our meeting. The Lord works on HIS time, not OURS. Yet another reminder to continue prayer, keep the faith and be patient. HIS will is being done on His terms. God is good, all the time!
Stay warm and have a wonderful and blessed day!

Open hearts
Yesterday 30 letters went to individual donor prospects. Today 30 post cards went to board member prospects and 60 letters went to corporate donor prospects.
Please pray for open hearts toward our cause and effort.
If you know someone that might have a heart for what we are doing, please invite them to our informational meeting.
God is amazing. He can take the desires of our hearts and make a full blown ministry out of it.

What we are about
Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it."
P22-6 Boys Ranch is a startup, Christian, working boys ranch.
The MISSION is to "train up a child in the way he should go".
The VISION is to do that in a "working ranch environment" that promotes a strong work ethic, self confidence and an appreciation for life and taking care of our natural resources.
In short, we will demonstrate God's love by caring for homeless or troubled boys and Godly stewardship through sustainable ranching, conservation initiatives and wildlife management; ultimately making the boys, soil, grass, water and wildlife better than we found them.
